The Pedestrian Essay

Alone In The World
Bradbury feels that everybody has lost connection to the real world and stuck inside the digital world.  While Bradbury enjoys and appreciates all of Earth's features alone, he get put into a position where he is now framed as a criminal for walking out at night.
Bradbury's tone in his story is a calm and peaceful way where you just feel you're just with him. " He listened to the faint push of his soft shoes through autumn leaves with satisfaction, and whistled a cold quiet whistle between his teeth, occasionally picking up a leaf as he passed, examining its skeletal pattern in the infrequent lamplight's as he went on, smelling its rusty smell"(Bradbury). Bradbury heavily describes the character's surrounding where the audience also feels this sense of peace and relaxation just equivalent to the character.
The character is characterized as man who is not afraid to be different and won't be easily be brainwashed like society. "And on his way he would see the cottages and homes with their dark windows... Sudden gray phantoms seemed to manifest upon inner room walls where a curtain was still undrawn against the night, or there were whispering and murmurs where a window in a tomb-like building was still open. Mr Leonard Mead would pause, cock his head, listen, look, and march on, his feet making no noise on the lumpy walk" (Bradbury). Bradbury believed he saw someone moving inside the house, instead of being time locked watching TV.
We get to see Bradbury perspective on life and how he lives his life unlike others or unlike the whole world. "'Hello, in there,' he whispered to every house on every side as he moved. 'What's up tonight on Channel 4, Channel 7, Channel 9?...Ever since a year ago, 2052, the election year, the force had been cut down from three cars to one. Crime was ebbing; there was no need now for the police, save for this one lone car wandering and wandering the empty streets." (Bradbury). We see in this time period there's no crime but only peace and quiet, but Bradbury being different and enjoying his life different. He's seen differently, out of the ordinary, and seen as an animal out of a cage.

Read Talk Understand

Students feel stressed out when an essay is assigned to them, but Montaigne view on writing is quite inspirational because he writes to be understood, not to write in pressure. Dr. Preston read his work which was very hard to understand, but Dr. Preston explained it for us to comprehend that writing is meant to be for one's thought to be understood. Use this information to become a better a writer.
